Psionic powers are known to exist, but rarely develop to any advanced degree in nature.  The underlying biology and physics of psionics is poorly understood and research is discouraged.

Known psionic abilities (in order of frequency of occurence) include telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance, telekinesis, awareness (enhanced control of own bodily functions) and teleportation.  Certain other abilities such as pyrokinesis and healing abilities have also been reported.

The development and use of psionic abilities is forbidden throughout Imperial space and by most neighbouring civilisations.  Public hostility to these abilities is extreme.  Research indicates that widespread development and use of psionics may be a key factor in the extinction of past Major Races.
